I actually thought the new RX350 interior was a step up from the previous generation. I never compared them side by side but I remember going into the old RX and I wasn't impressed enough to buy it. I then started looking at the RDX which I wasn't happy with and then I finally settled on an NX. The center console area with the gear shifter on the old RX was very ill-fashioned and that sticks out to me the most, but I guess the side panels are quite nice. Either way, the RDX can't compare in terms of interior to the RX and I don't think anyone will cross shop between the two. They're very different cars at very different price points for very different customers.
But I could see some people buying a top trim rdx over say a base rx if features mattered to them. But with that note, very very very few people would do that so Acura should stop trying to be a poor man's lexus and start being a premium performance brand again.

Some of what is being posted will confuse many people shopping for luxury vehicles. To those looking for a vehicle my advice is check out the vehicles for yourself in person. That's what I've done.
I've examined the interiors of many luxury vehicles. My friends own Porsches, Mercedes, Lexus, BMWs, Jaguars, Range Rovers, Infinitis, Acuras, Audis, etc. None of my friends own Bentleys, Rolls Royces, Lamborghinis etc. so can't speak for those. What I can tell you is that after examining all of these other luxury brands, the Acura easily competes with them but at a much better price. Exterior, interior, horsepower, technology, sound system, etc. -- a fully loaded 2016 or 2017 Acura RDX Elite can compete with any of them. I have no idea why some brands are overhyped. I was in a Mercedes E class and ML recently along with the new Lexus RX. Their interiors are not that different from the fully loaded Acura RDX. Don't believe the hype, examine the vehicles first hand.

Honestly, this happens only here...
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, if the OP feels RDX is the same is RX...good for him. Everyone should do their homework by reading, test driving and asking people before purchasing a $50K car.
I just purchase a new Mazda CX-5. But I did a lot of homework before pulling the trigger. CRV, Rogue and Rav 4 are amazing cars but CX-5 was better fit for me in terms of budget, driving and dealer experience.
The same goes when people think it's stupid to pay over $100K for a Lexus LS or RC F where they can buy a S class or BMW M4 and the list goes on...but people still buy LS and RC F.
