Honda and Acura service manuals are only available on-line through their subscription service:

http://techinfo.honda.com

Once you subscribe you can download PDF copies for what you need, but I recall there being a limit on how much you could download per day.

Thank You for that link. There are (2) levels of access: Express, $10.00, and Service Information System, $20.00. Which one is preferred for downloading complete sections of the service manuals??

I used the Service Express and don't recall seeing anything about downloading entire sections. I suspect you can't do that in either level, just specific repair tasks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "just specific tasks". Would an example be perhaps just the section on replacing the Master Cylinder or the section on replacing the Front Wheel Cylinders, but the whole section on brakes would not be allowed as a single download?

Can anyone confirm what is actually available via this site, and is their a daily limit on the amount that can be downloaded?

If I understand correctly, the only difference between the two options is that the premium option allows searching the database. That makes me wonder if they are somehow preventing downloads and only allowing access while on-line.

Although I didn't try it myself, I was told that the Toyota site allows you to download any of the pages from the FSM, and you could download as much as you wanted during the 24 hour period.

I guess if no one has actual experience with the site, it's not a big expense to just experiment for a single day.

If you want to do it, I can paypal you $2 for instructions on all brake services (should be less than 20 pages), and maybe other members can start crowdfunding the repair manuals download.

I'm not specifically interested in the brakes. I was just using that as an example to try and understand what kfhughes meant when he said that entires sections couldn't be downloaded, just specific tasks.

But your idea of crowdfunding is something that had crossed my mind. We really need to know what is available. I have seen some instruction manuals only available as webpages. In other words you click on the link that you are interested in, and a new page pops open which contans the information you want. Not only is it difficult to download an entire chain of links and sub links, but once downloaded, these types of manuals are only readable on a PC. I'm hoping the Acura manuals are available as PDF downloads.

So has anyone used this site successfully? I'm interested to know what $10 or $20 for the day actually gets you.
