2015 RDX makes squealing noise when turning
Hello,
My 2015 RDX has started to make a squealing noise when I turn left and right. Originally, it only occurred when I turned left, recently it has started to make the same noise when I turn right. I took it to the Acura dealership and they told me that there may be rust underneath the break pads which can be caused by car washes and/or rain. However they were not able to diagnose the issue definitively. They said that it should go away on its own as I continue driving.
The problem has not stopped. Does anybody know what the issue may be? I'm not so sure I buy what they're telling me.
Thanks in advance.

You may have defective rotors. I had a similar problem and Acura replaced them under warranty. My brake noise was only in the morning / cold start. There is a TSB on that. Talk to your dealer with this information. There are several threads on this. Here's one of them. Let us know what happens. Good luck

Normally squealing when turning the steering wheel indicates to me the power steering pump...
low or contaminated fluid, worn belt or the pump itself.
If so...the sound would be most apparent when parked, in idle and by turning and holding the steering wheel hard left or right.
hope you find the problem.

Does the 2G have hydraulic steering? I thought it was electric.

EPS, i did not know that. This is my first car with even a built in navigation screen...so my bad.
If so the worse thing you can do is hold the steering stop to stop otherwise the power assist motor could overheat.
Would an extended warranty cover this issue and is there a service bulletin for this?
im furiously taking notes for when we bring ours in so I'll get my money's worth bending over at the dealer.

Thank you everyone else for the replies, I'm thinking of taking to another shop or dealer to get a second opinion.

Does it only make noise at road speed or while stopping? If it's road speed during turning, especially hard tight turns, then it may be your shocks. The load of the car during the turn will cause a leaky shock to squeaked. You'll need to be able to reproduce it or tell the dealer how to reproduce it.

slow down when turning so the hamsters don't fall of the wheel?
ok now on to the real question:
does it squeal when you are turning the wheel in park or very low speeds? of so check the rack.

I had a similar problem after the dealership changed my winter tires to summer tires and they bent the backing plate in the driver side tire which was rubbing against the rotor, so it was squealing for weeks.

Same issue here. Mostly left turns. Intermittent during right hand turns. No squeaking when parked and turning to lock in either direction. Squeaking whether brakes are applied or not. Caliplaya209, any resolution?

I think there is some truth to that video. In my case the problem got so much worse over time(it went from left hand turns to all directions all the time) and the dealership finally replaced all brake components and rotors. They said the new parts are also updated parts, so I hope it will not have the same issues as the original parts. I had to deal with this issue since only 8000miles and I won't ever buy Acura again.

I have a 2017 and I have this problem very intermittently. It began around 10,000 miles and has happened 3-4 different times. It’ll happen for a week at most and then go away. The first time, I brought it to the Acura dealer and they told me my brakes had to be cleaned and it was $160. I declined because at 1,100 miles they had to replace my rotors under warranty so I felt that they should clean then for free since I had previous issues. They wouldn’t. Fortunately the issue has gone away each time.

I just inspected the left front pads and all of the hardware seem to have plenty of clearance. The noise seems to be worse than before and present over speed bumps. Dealer said we need new rotors and pads but I am not convinced. They also said the TSB was not applicable since we have over 50,000 miles on our RDX.
