Unhappy 2014 RDX sound driver's side

Hi ,

I bought a 2014 Acura RDX with tech package last year november. So far the car has around 4k miles. Today, I heard a strange noise coming from the driver's side. It was like some metal grinding sound. When I checked the driver's side I didn't see anything strange. So I asked my colleague to take a look into it and he too didn't find anything. I turning the wheel around by driving forward to see if my colleague see anything different.
I was about to call AAA and reversed the car and strange the noise disappeared. My colleague told that there was small stone that fell of from driver's side. Felt relieved but was worried if this is going to happen even in the future. How can I avoid it ? I had Honda accord, prius but never had any issues.
But strange this happened to Acura.
Is this a known issue ? If so how can I fix it ? We spend so much money on cars and I was expecting I won't be having any issues with Acura but I am disappointed with this issue. Thanks and looking forward for the reply.

^^ Quite honestly, if its just a rock that got wedged in your wheel, is that really an Acura problem or an act of God? I had a similar situation on my g/f previous rabbit and there was a little rock got wedged somewhere in the brake pads/caliper area....going backward is exactly what actually dislodged the stone and the noise went away, and it never happened again.

In all honesty, you can't blame Acura for something like this....I mean this could happen on any vehicle.

Thanks for clarifying..I drove arund 80 k miles on a toyato and 100k miles on an honda accord.I drove on many muddy roads..Never had any issue.Basically I was frustrated with the noise as I didn't had any issues with other cars..I was thinking may be its something to do with Rotor..Based on your post I figured out that its common

^^ It was likely just a fluke. What happened on the Rabbit never reoccurred again and that was the only time it ever happened to any of my vehicles. I think you will be fine, and shouldn't happen....if it does, just go backward
