2014 RDX engine misfire

2014 RDX engine misfire

Hi All-
my 2014 RDX engine misfires at low at a low speed (usually in 30-50 mile/h range) and uphill. There is no code and I checked with my mechanic and he said is probably a censor but because the misfiring lasts only for few seconds the computer cannot read it and I need to wait until gets bad. Have anyone had this issue? Any thoughts what censor is? I'd like to replace it before it gets because because is super annoying to drive it.

What is the transmission like when you feel this 'misfire'? Does it downshift or feel normal?

If it was a true misfire, the "check engine" light would have come on and sotred a code. Building on what Alex Medeiros mentioned, it could be a transmsission shifting issue.

When was the last time you changed the transmission fluid? As I have learned on this forum, the fluid is very important, more so than any other car I've owned.

Thanks for replying, Alex. Transmission feels OK, I'm pretty sure is from the engine.

thanks for replying. there is no check engine light and that was the mechanic's issue after I let him drive for few errands. Agree on the transmission(my old manual TL had an issue) and I will replace it but not sure if that's the reason. I'll keep you all posted.

Might not hurt to do a drain and refill of new transmission fluid, but I'm not sure if it's gonna solve your issue. If your transmission is jerky, then it should help though. Without a code, it's hard to dignose.

How many miles do you have on your RDX? Have you owned it since new?

100K and had it since 40K(2.5 years ago). It was on my radar to change the timing belt and transmission fluid in the next couple of week.

Hopefully the transmission fluid change will do the trick.
