this is my first post as am interested in buying an used 2013 RDX with tech package. It has around 166k miles and has 2 prev owner. I checked carfax and it didn’t have any accident.

first owner did all oil change on time from acura dealer but second owner had good 60k miles gap in oil change(am assuming he did by himself as no engine can go without oil change for such high miles)

dealer is selling it for $10500.

Whats your opinion on the car in terms of what may go wrong.

am buying this as second car for home which my wife is going to use run errands and once in a month Highway drive.

 

It was due for a timing belt change and spark plugs at around 105,000 miles. This is an expensive service if never done. At 166k, if was never done, it will ruin the engine if it breaks.

 

I'd buy an RDX with that many miles, but not without a complete and timely service history. As egads stated, timing belt is a must-do service. If there is no record of it being completed, it has to be done immediately. Did the previous owners change transmission, differential, and transfer case fluid regularly?
