2013 RDX HID Foglight?

Has anyone changed the foglight to HID? If yes, any picture to share? Is the RDX factory HID 4300k or 5000k?

I have done 4300k on both my headlight & foglight on my 08 civic si and I love it.

Please advise.....

my gf's just got purple HID's for her fog lights, these are the better quality aftermarket kits.
They look real nice (but very illegal), no problems at all so far, very stable and very easy to install.

But the guys selling the kit did make a point about harness should be installed if you don't have stock HIDs (she didn't need it because she's got the tech pkg)

I was wondering the same about the fog light. It looks very yelllow and does not match with the HID headlights. I looks at manual and it showed what type of bulb and how to swap out a new light bulb. I could not find any HID or LED whiter tone light indicate to replace 2013 RDX because it's so new. I see lots of replacement HID Fog light bulb for 2012 RDX. I wonder they the 2012 and 2013 use the same type of bulb? Has anyone swap out the bulb and where you bought it from? Is it easy to swap out?

I have done some research and 2012 & 2013 are using the same lightbulb for forlight(H11). I think the best colour temperature to match the HID headlight is 4200k.

Hey tikkin,

Did you install the HID foglight by yourself? Where can I get the instruction on how to install it? Do you have to remove the bumper?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is annoyed by the fog lights (and DRL/High Beams) not matching the HID. I thought about changing both with HID conversion kits, but read several horror stories about melting bumpers.

I just ordered new halogen bulbs (fog lights rated at 4000, DRL/High Beams rated at 4870). Hopefully they won't be as yellow. As soon as I get them installed, I'll post pics showing if there's any difference.

Why does it bother you that they don't match light color? Lights are meant to be used to see. And to be seen not to be used so you can be seen as you wish to appear.

Here is a good read.

No removing the bumper is not necessary, installing by yourself is easy. The HID kits come pretty much plug and play. And our owner's manual actually teaches you how to replace the fog light bulbs. You need to turn your wheels all the way to one side and bend out the rubber cover from under your wheel wells.

There is plenty of room to fit any sized ballast under there, but how you secure the ballast depends on which type you got, you don't want the ballast to be bouncing around in there.

Thanks tikkin. Did you get the slim ballast? Did you use double sided tape to secure the ballast?

What about adding fog lights to a non-tech? Has anybody done this? I saw them on the barnardi site for a good price, but was wondering what a dealer would charge to install? Any help would be appreciated.

I thought most of the OEM lights are 35w but I may be wrong.

Most OEM lights are 35W, but the RDX headlights are 55W (for whatever reason). The fog lights should be 35W. My Mercedes C300 has 55w headlights and 35w fogs.

The US Spec RDX Base uses the same bulb type for both the low beam headlamps and the fog lights. H11 55 Watts.

I would also like to get replacements similar in color to the xenon headlights. Any opinions on these LED ones? They are much easier to install than the HID kits. Not sure about the CANBUS error though.
