2013 RDX Grinding Noise when quickly accelerating??
So I've only had my used 2013 RDX for about 3 weeks now.. Last night I was taking a friend for a spin, and wanted to show him it had 'get-up-and-go' power, so while getting onto the freeway , I floored the pedal and about a second and a half in or so (not sure what gear or speed, but I wasn't above 50 yet I don't think), I heard a grinding noise coming from below the stereo area (that little cubby with the usb plug) it was more higher pitched grinding like light sheet metal rather than a deep grinding. Once I was up to speed it was gone.
I came to the next exit about 5 minutes after this, got off, and when I was turning onto the main street there was a slight incline so I floored it again and the grinding happened again, this time for less time and less pronounced...
I then drove around the town for about 10 minutes... Got back on the free way to go back home, floored it hard, and this time no grinding..
Should I be worried here? If I accelerate smoothly and slowly (i.e. not pedal to the metal 0-60 in 6 seconds) it has NEVER done this in the 3 weeks I've owned it.
It was a colder night , around 50, and the car had just been started from sitting for probably 6 or 7 hours.
Any advice? Did I get bad one?!

It sounds like you need to do "pedal to metal" driving more often to get rid of the problem.... .
Common sense says that if at all you need to floor the car it would be better to wait till the engine is fully warmed up to normal operating temperatures. Anyway what you are describing doesn't sound anything serious in my opinion. I'm not a "pedal to metal" kind of guy (and that's why I bought the RDX), so can't help you much in this matter. Good luck.

Oh I'm not normally either, unless there's like 2 cars going 25mph trying to merge on the freeway and I need to pass em...
I again today after I had driven the car for 15 miles, (though on wet roads) and it did not make any kind of noise.. I'm gonna keep and ear out and try once or twice more to see if it was some kind of cold engine fluke.

well I haven't taken it in yet. I haven't tried to push it as hard.. I did notice again for a much shorter time, but now when I floor it more controlled it doesn't make the noise.. I'm gonna just drive it like normal for a while and see if I notice it with 'controlled' accelerating instead of 'stomping' the pedal.. it may just not like having the pedal stomped down... is my guess?
still runs great when I accelerate like a normal person
