Maybe it is just my work monitor; but, the new RDX looks like a tall wagon?

I do like the interior more than my 2010. 33 hp, 3 view camera, and hi def navi is a big plus! Still love the turbo though. And those rims scream Kia Optima..

it look like the older MDX but smaller. heck, it look like any other plain SUV out there. I'm keeping my turbo and my 17mpg RDX!

wonder what the powerband is on that V6 - because the turbo 4 kicks ass and prob puts more effective power at the wheels than the V6 where and when it counts; lower RPM. With their stated MPG for the FWD only - not expecting much of an MPG increase in the AWD. However, I am expecting a performance decrease w/o SHAWD. looks like a lose lose. Why not have added a 6th gear to a revised turbo???? same MPG or probably better, especially if the 2013 RDX is now lighter.

From what I can see from the pics:
- push button start
- power tail gate
- updated navi (don't know how updated)

Assuming this will stay:
- hard drive based navi
- Bluetooth streaming audio
- hard drive based mp3 storage for music (I need a min of 20GB)
- Base, Tech and Advance models?
- Paddle shifter only

Don't know:
- cooled seats (adv model)
- rear vents for passenger
- deep or shallow center console
- Blind spot monitoring (adv model)
- active cruise control (adv model)
- Bixeon head lights
- LED rear lights
- HD radio
- acura sh-awd OR the CRV awd system
- colors (interior/exterior)
- smart phone integration (acura care, read text, etc…)
- keyless entry and keyless start (leave key in your pocket)
- back up camera for navi and non navi
- memory seats that adjust side mirrors, steering wheel and/or rear view mirror

go thru ur list Mr. Gold, some of those have been announced, it will have text/speech, NO SHAWD, also the link I posted lists the majority of the equipment changes

"Set to launch in spring 2012, the 2013 RDX is powered by a 273-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 mated to a six-speed automatic. The outgoing RDX used a five-speed automatic and a turbocharged 2.3-liter I-4 with 240 horsepower. What the first-generation RDX lacked was the 2013 Acura's 20/28 mpg city/highway estimated fuel economy. If the 2013 RDX actually gets those numbers, that will put it above front-drive-based luxury crossovers like the Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60.

the 2013 Acura RDX gets a three-view rear camera and a Pandora radio interface. The upgraded navigation system has voice recognition, can reroute around traffic, includes real-time weather with radar image maps, and offers 15 gigabytes for music storage. Other 2013 RDX luxuries include an SMS text message reading feature, smart entry keyless access system, and push-button start."

I do like the look inside/out of the 2013 RDX compared to the 10-12 RDX. I still love my 08 RDX more. If the 2013 RDX came with cooled seats, I would take a serious look at it (summers in NM and AZ can get a little warm).

It's not that it looks bad, it just looks like a vehicle that it' almost about to be redesigned, The MDX. But to some, that could be a good thing.

I dont mind it at all.. have to wait to see it in person..and please please put LED tails on this one. Dealers across town are going nuts trying to clear out the existing RDX models with huge rebates on them...i got rid of my 08 rdx tech already just this last weekend but it was tough to negotiate a good trade-in at the dealership but i got what i wanted.

..but would love to see how the V6 does in that new RDX and anyone got any approx. vehicle weight guesses yet?

another - need to see in person - vehicle from Acura. However, i really wished for a more compelling interior. The tones & colors all look the same and rather mundane and flat. Hopefully there are more interior combinations or higher-class trims.

don't you guys think it looks like a mini van? i think its based on the tsx, the sport wagon to be precise. this might mean there will never be a tsx v6 wagon. the rdx will fill the gap. so in another words since a wagon is abad word in North America, it will not sell more than prev model.

I like the design, far more than the 2010-2012 at least. It's sportier.
However, I'm worried about the AWD system, don't want to pay the premium for an essentially FWD vehicle. The engine/transmission are the same ones on the MDX, right?

I'm disappointed with the interior, it doesn't look that premium and we still get silver painted plastic instead of real metal

No, the MDX is a 3.7 liter making 300HP & 270TQ. I will agree about the design - anything is better than the current model (10-12). Still think the 2013 RDX will have to be appreciated in person, at least evaluated first, because pictures arent doing it any favors.

the grille might be less intrusive than a 10-12 rdx but it is still there. i don't like it, it looks too long and I certainly don't want a v6. I'm guessing the ride will be buttery smooth though. The J35 will not give you anywhere near 28mpg. it is just like the 2012 3.5 TL. 28 highway, 20 city and 22 combined. 22 combined is not any different than 22 combined i'm getting now with the turbo. AND it's NOT even the J35 from the TL but the one from the accord! it will have much less lower end torque. i also don't think it is sporty anymore, it will Not 'feel' any faster without the turbo rush. it's good for soccer moms, no offense haha.

Oh I see, it's the base TL engine/transmission combo then. Which means they shouldn't price it more than that, which starts at 35K, so maybe the RDX goes right to 40K with the Tech package and nonSH-AWD?

The lack of SH-AWD, electric steering, and removal of turbo is very worrying. I'm honestly considering that new Ford Fusion for my next car, as I find it absolutely gorgeous and it should match the performance of the current RDX with its 2-liter turbo and rear biased AWD system...But I don't want mexicans or the UAW assembling my car so that's also iffy...

Plus, it's really not a power bump for those who have a Hondata chip

not feeling this too much.. too much like an MDX! and really similar to the new CR-V.. I thought Acura's goal was to be less Honda-like? the 2012 RDX is fine! What they should have done is created a hybrid RDX 4 cylinder and offered a V6.. slightly tweaked design.

well the bright spot is it is a prototype.. hopefully they take customer input and tweak it..

Overall I like it except for the absence of nice dual exhaust tips, reminds me too much of a lexus rx.

if it looks like any other car, it's the venza specially from the front:

well not exactly a tl engine, its the accord engine which is a detuned version of the one on the TL! the tl engine is rated @280hp while the rdx one has 273hp. the difference is mostly in the low end torque.

At least now we know who the RDX is looking to steal sales from, the RX350. Can't blame them for going after the segment sales leader, but no thanks for me. However, there's also a very strong possibility that some MDX sales will be stolen too, and Acura won't like that.

I'm OK with the styling but going with a heavy front engine setup with no sh-awd will make it very boring to drive. By the way, does the V6 Accord need premium or regular gas? How about the base TL?

I can see how this new design might appeal to a broader audience, but the "specialness" of the RDX is gone. After seeing these photos, I went out and looked at my 2011...beak and all, I fell in love with it all over again.

accord runs on regular gas - but expect a demerit in peak performance. However, since this an an "Acura" model, im sure Acura will claim it needs premium - like all the rest of their cars.

Acura has completely reversed and restructured the RDX's priorities, mainly, building a model that caters to those who bought the previous and not the enthusiasts - cant blame them, but youd hope to believe they retained at least SOME sporting aspirations. So far, looks like the 2013 has become the 40 somethings female companion. There is not a single attribute that is aggressive.

One main thing im caught up on is the touting of its luxury. If anything, all Acura has done is bring it SOMEWHAT relevant against the competition. Power tailgait is something to hang your hat on? really? Keyess access? This all seems run of the mill, not billing the RDX as a future standout but only making the 2013 relevant to an already advanced market.

I just notice the exhaust is "hidden ". That just made this car the plain Jane that it is. I don't understand why they didn't work their Turbo 4 more especially when Ford, BMW, Audi are sticking to theirs.I'm sure this new model sell a lot more but I'm sad that the current RDX will remain the only turbo motor from honda.
