Took the 2014 RDX tech for it's first road trip. Ottawa to Niagara Falls. Observations:

1. New car driving is great! GPS was great, except it tried to make me take a toll road. I should have adjusted it, I know!

2. Neither the 12V outlet or USB port in front was able to charge my iPhone. Is there another 12V outlet in the car?

3. Black cars are just magnets to salt and snow. It's crazy how dirty they get. This coming from someone who had a silver MDX.

4. Great gas mileage, compared to the MDX. Spent around 150$ Canadian total on Premium unleaded gas, to boot!

All in all, very happy with the first trip. The RDX can fly quietly, so needed to dial it back after doing 140 alone on the road. Cruised it between 120-130 to play it safe. Lot of unmarked cops on the 401!

It's odd that your phone wouldnt charge. It could be a blown fuse. Have the dealer check that.

 

Does the usb plug able to charge your phones? (with a converter cord, of course!)

I might try a different car cigarette lighter cord....

 

Amen on the black car vs winter, I now remember why I got rid of my last black car. But when it's clean, there's nothing nicer! Unfortunately it won't be clean until spring up here in the Great Northeast this year.

The front port does charge my iphone 5 using a lightning cable.
