Yes, it aced those tests getting G in all categories they tested. Too bad the TLX did only A and M in a few tests.

I'd rather have crash mitigation so the car stops BEFORE it hits the barrier.... those look like you could get some injuries in the footwell..

if the RDX rims did not shatter it would be a different outcome

How can they give this thing a G when the rims show such horrible quality? I admit to not having watched many front offset crashes, but I have watched a few and never seen the rims crack in such a shitty way.

Oh no no no... thats exactly what you want! In a crash you want energy to be displaced into parts *away* from the people. You see the more energy that gets translated into the A-Piller / unibody the more more quickly the people stop. So any type of crumpling or dispersion that parts can do before the people reach the end of the seat belt stroke the less likely injury will occur.

Managing deflection... actually engineering and testing deflection is the name of the game.

I'd "rather have" both. Unfortunately with an RDX we have to get acurawatch plus to get cmbs. Or get an advance trim version.

Acura and most makes with CMBS will not promise the car will stop, only that it will slow to minimize the impact. If I recall the crash test of CMBS showed the car slowed from 12 MPH to 2 MPH thus making it a very minimal impact. So as others have said I will take both, CMBS and a well designed passenger cage.
