This morning, after 5 1/2 months out of the country, I picked up my 2021 NSX NC1 which I had loaned to Patriot Acura in Scarborough Maine for the winter. They had my car on display under their halo light (and since this is Acura’s halo automobile).

While Maine’s first and only (and stunning!) Acura dealership opened Oct 2024 they are having their Grand Opening celebration on Thursday May 1 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Before leaving the dealership I asked the owner if I could invite people from this forum as well as NSX Prime where I am also a member and he said yes.

Just to be clear: I have no affiliation with Patriot Acura other than being an extremely satisfied customer and friend of the dealership.

Nice ride and I never understood why there wasn't an Acura dealer in ME. My in-laws lived in ME for years and the closest dealer was Portsmouth. I hippe they do well.

 

Yeah, I agree with you. I have lived in Maine for the last 26 years and being a big fan of Acura (I owned two different Gen-1’s in NYC) I have been surprised and dismayed that there wasn’t one. You can imagine how elated I was to discover that Maine’s first and only Acura dealership was opening shortly after I purchased my NC1. What luck!

The owner is a great guy—he also owns Patriot Subaru—as are all the people I have met there…so I am doubly excited to get my car serviced there. I also met the Director of Service Glen as well as Shop Foreman and Master Tech Eric who worked on my car.

I anticipate this dealership doing quite well.

 

I would expect they would be fairly price competitive coming out of the gate. Kind of interesting in that they have no real competition - locally.

Hello. Noteworthy? Well, it was extremely well attended—no idea how many people showed up but there certainty were a lot of people there—and the dealership had an excellent, notable, singer/songwriter present (sorry, I forgot his name) as well as Mr. T’s Smoke Shack truck providing attendees with delicious Bar-B-Que. They had, of course, a videographer roaming the event as well as someone operating a drone. So all in all I would say it was a great success and fun to mingle with like minded (car) people. Definitely a cut-above automobile dealership in my opinion. I wouldn’t expect anything less from the owner and GM who are genuine standup guys.

 

Awesome - sounds like a good time. Perhaps we would consider making the drive for our next chariot.
