What are the first signs of a Tranny going bad?
What's up everyone, I was driving on the freeway today and I started hearing some whistling noise from the engine.. I was on SS and on 3rd gear going into 4th... RPM at about 4500... I was trying to change lane so I dropped it into third tap the gas about 3/4 and RPM needle went nuts... it was going up and down and I could not accelerate... I let off he gas and it was back to normal. ..... I called the Acura dealership and acted like they new what was going on... They said They could not take my car in until Wednesday, but when I mention my tranny, they told me to bring it tommorrow.... Does it sound like I'm loosing my baby for a while...? I appreciate all the feedback.... I have 25000 mi.. Thanks

Here is what I noticed:
1. Tranny started to slip between shifts.
2. Engine would hit the rev limiter between shifts.
3. Tranny would downshift for no reason.
4. Finally, tranny got stuck in 2nd gear with check engine and VSA lights on.

This is interesting and its happened to me a couple of times, When I dropped it into 3, it Bounced 3 times. I later learned that it was the REV Limiter, but I thought My Transmission was Slipping. It's NOT a good feeling when you don't know what's going on.
