Transmission problems causing motor mounts to go bad?
i have a 01 cl and a shop has informed me that my motor mounts are bad. My transmission is of course acting up and I have an appointment in a couple of days to have Sierra Acura of Alhambra check it out. They have ran my vin and have confirmed that i am within the 100k mile warranty. My question is... if my transmission is jolting whenever it goes into 2nd and 3rd gear... would that affect my motor mounts? or at least my transmission mount? Should they fix that as well?

if you let the trans slam gears long enough it will cause the mounts to fail due to the excessive shock experienced by the harsh shifting

would acura replace under warranty
would acura replace the mortor mounts if the tranny is replaced under warranty, because the mortor mounts probobly went out because of the tranny or would they charge you

all FWD cars have problems with mounts, especially cars with high HP torque engines

My mounts went out at 45,000 miles on my CL-S. It's a common problem from what I hear with hondas. My girlfriend has a 01 Accord Coupe V6 and hers needs mounts also. It cost me right at $300 to replace them.

my '94 was at 145K on the original mounts when I sold it. My 98V6 was at 100K on the original mounts and now my CL type S is at 44K and change.
If you are constantly getting into the throttle, then yes your mounts are going to die quickly. If you drive like a sane person, then they should last a lot longer.......
