Transmission Perspective
Anyone else consider this possibility:
When the first transmissions began to fail, Acura did not have any transmissions to evaluate and perform failure analysis on, so those of you who had first, second, and even third transmissions replaced may not have the new, corrected transmission build that Acura determined was needed based on enough failure analysis.
I pick my car up tomorrow with one of the new factory rebuilt transmissions. Hopefully this transmission will perform correctly for it's intended use without failure.
Either Acura is hellbent on resolving the problem or they're blowing smoke up everyone's ass. I choose to believe they want to fix this problem because the short and long-term consequences will be damaging to Acura. Period. And no, I do not work for nor am associated with Acura.
Just my $.02

Dunno, I go in tomorrow for a looking-at. My Transmission has slipped 5 times in the last 4 days :pfawk: and I want to get it in while I can still drive it (13.5k Mi). It seems to me that perhaps it's not a transmission failure. I'm no mechanic, but in general troubleshooting, if you keep replacing a part and it keeps failing on some vehicles, but identical parts are fine on other vehicles, maybe it's the devices controlling those trannys that sucks. Perhaps the computer that controlls the all the inner-workings is screwed on some vehicles and is causing undue stress on all transmissions that go in that car. It seems that everyone that has a tranny replacement has more than just one. This is hard to verify, of course, untill the 02's are 2-3 years old.
