Trans shifting at low speeds

I have just purchased a 97 3.0 CL and have a question about the shifting characteristics. My CL has 48k miles and has never been hit. When I start out very slowly, the trans seems to shift to 2nd gear almost immediately causing an interruption in the smooth acceleration. I have read on an "Epinions" comment where this was apparant on earlier models. Has anyone here, experienced the same, and are there any remedies? I have had other automatic Honda products without this behavior.

Here is the Epinions post:

The reliability has been flawless, for a new model (ours is the '97).
There is a slightly annoying hesitation apparently inherent to that model's automatic transmission between first and second gear that may have been cured in later models -- see whether it bothers you. Other than that, everything including the cup holder does what we want.

I just bought my own 97 3.0 and foound the exact same thing, did you ever find a fix for it or is it something we have to live with? BTW a friend of mine has the same car and it doesn't do it!

Charles
