Tranny Replacment
I went down to Acura today 8/13/08 to pick up some transmission fluid. I am pretty sure the guy before me was not using Honda ATF. It was brown and boy did it smell bad. I just recently check it and it was cherry red. Well i went down their to talk to the guy and i told him what problems i was having. Sticky 2nd gear. grinding in between 1st and 2nd gear as well as a whining sound between 60-80mph. Then service people looked up my tranny and said i was covered under the warranty. I am going to drop it off on Mon or tuesday 8/18-8/19 and their going to test the car, but the lady said most likely you will need a new transmission. That makes number 2 for this car.
I really did not think that was going to happen to me, but i guess its not really a bad thing. The first tranny went at 27K and this one is going at 64K.
What do you guys think i should do after the car gets fixed. I was thinking of either keeping the car and doing a lil mods like brakes, tl lip kit navi. basically stuff thats going to cost me....ORRRRR...i was going to get a 1st gen tsx, 3rd gen TL and the usuall subaru legacy's and a couple of other cars, but i would like to keep it in the honda/ acura family...what do you think?

damn shit like that scares me...i had mine replaced at like 70k ish, and now i have almost 90....makes me think that it might go out again....i know how much this damn topic has been covered but we cant help but bring it up as long as we have our cars....isnt it RARE though, and when i say rare i mean highly unlikely, that these cars need another transmission after the first one has been replaced? I have heard of a few experienced members saying that they changed the replacement trannys in like 2003 that they were using to put into cars that came in for warranty service so if you get one lets say for example today, that it "should" be ok...right? haha this car is a ticking time bomb and i need to hurry up and graduate from college so i can buy whatever the hell i want

and i know i should let my emotions get the best of me, but a tsx would be pretty nice, expecially in a 6sp, but their great on gas and it would be newer.
The lady said when you get the new tranny put in, you wont have a problem with it because its a whole new kind of transmission. Well jokingly i said..."so im getting the 6spd" and she laughed and said we are not allowed to do that. haha
Plus are they replacing the whole tranny or is it just like a few parts and stuff?
are they going to give me a new type- S shift knob?
im going to see if they will let me go down their to snap a couple of photos...plus the had a red NSX in the show room....ohhhhh woww
