Angry Tranny fluid leak

MODS - please keep this here until I get some input, no one looks at the tranny forum anymore...

Ok, so i have noticed a small tranny fluid leak. I got under the car, and there was tranny fluid everyehere, like it sprayed while i was driving. I wiped the underside down, and drove it....no leak. I do notice, however, that there is alot of fluid around the drive axle coming out from the tranny casing. Could this be the leak? Also, what is everyones thought about that tranny leak sealant stuff.....I cannot afford to have major work done right now; will that shit destroy my tranny?

I had the axle seal replaced under warranty on the 99 TL-P when I had some drops in that area on the driver's side. I don't think it's too terribly expensive to replace.

I'd argue for a warranty fix since it's tranny related. Read the warranty extension notice (7 yaer 100,000 miles) and interpret it to cover your situation. May be a stretch but that's what lawyers do. What is your mileage?

BTW, one of the indicators in Acura's notice that your tranny is failing (that I just read on-line) are tranny fluid leaks . These notices were sent to all 2001-2 CL's owners. That should carry some weight to get it covered under the warranty extension!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not even a possibility - I have 157,000 miles on the original tranny

I guess I shouldn't bitch so much, that is not bad for all original drivetrain, but right now is just a REALLY bad time to try and scrounge up the cash....

Put on a face shield, raise the hood, get him to hold the brake and rev the engine. You might see the leak.
