solenoids being replaced

i went in for my 15k service & mentioned my tranny had been slipping & shifting hard for a while. they told me they'd check it out...
i get a call around 5 o'clock from my service guy saying they found some problems in the tranny w/ the solenoids. so, they're going to replace them & flush out the tranny. if there is still a problem, then they'd take further action.
i was just wondering if anyone else had had this done. is acura just giving me the runaround instead of a new tranny?
the worst is that they gave me a minivan loaner. WTF?

When I took my car in for tranny problems they told me they got a code to replace the shifting solenoid. They replaced the shifting solenoid first, but when they took it for a test drive they felt it still wasn't shifting properly so they replaced the entire tranny.

I had the shift solenoids replace in my '02 Slush-o-matic .. it helped for about 3 weeks .. but quickly reverted back to what it was doing. Personally, I think the grade-logic controller is tearing this tranny apart .. particular decline grades .. always a new experience.

My tranny acts up from a decline to flat transistion. More noticable when I coast after the decline. It is like the GLC gets stuck in 'decline' and the motor fights the transmission to maintain speed.

The sad part is, brakes are cheaper than transmissions. When I drive a manual I rarely downshift for this reason. A clutch is expensive to replace.
