I was driving normally like i usually do and then when i came to a traffic light I stopped and waited. While waiting for the light to turn green i took a quick glimpse at my RPM and the needle was moving up and down between 1 thousand. If you hear closely to my car it sounded like a stick car while idling meaning the tone of the car sound goes up and down up and down. Hope this is not a sign of transmission failure cause if it is sux to be me.

Sometimes the CL has power surges.

It usually happens while your sitting at a light or stop sign.

When your 5AT goes north, you will know it. There is no question that it is broken, because you will not be going anywhere. Every light on your dash comes on. When you step on the gas, your tach jumps for sure, because your engine is disconnected from the trans.

My original trans had no symptoms until it failed on a Friday evening rush hour in Atlanta, GA going north on GA400. It started slipping after I passed under I285. Lots of fun! I would not wish this on my worst enemy.

 

sounds like the iac is bad. makes the car surge. and with the auto when it surges its like pressing the gas with the brake on.

does it down shift hard when stopping. if it does then it is prolly the case.
