Shimmy / vibration after tranny replaced on 2001 Cl type S
I had the transmission on my CLS (2001) replaced this summer. Ever since then, I feel a shimmy / vibration / shudder when I am at low speeds or stopped. It is very annoying. The shimmy seems to be low, and then it will kick in harder. It vibrates through the steering wheel and dash board.
I am taking it into the dealer to check (it was there once already) and I anticpate the dealer will try to tell me everyrthing is fine ... does anyone have any suggestion for what I should tell the dealer to check to increase my chances of getting a fix?

see this is your mistake number one .... you waited ummm waht 6 months +
dont expect this to be fixed at no charge unless you go all out bitching at the service manager. (unless car is under warrenty) . put yourself in dealers shoes you help someone do something then suddenly half year later they come and start saying that every since then something has been happening...dont know about you but id telll that bitch to go take a hike
was front engine mount replaced when they did the tranny? if not that could be your problem. once subframe is removedand hangin down and mount is on its side IF mount is bad it will leak. if significant amount of fluid drained out it will not absorb teh vibrations from the engine.
it takes under 3 hours for expirienced tech to do a transmission on TL/CL but untill the subframe is down its hard to tell if that engine mount is bad . but once subframe is down service writer has about an hour(time it takes to swap some minor stuff from old to new tranny and put it all in ) to call you the customer and get you to OK the new mount. if you dont respond within given time everything is put bak in as it is . labor rates to put in that mount are .5 hr if it is done same time as the trans and 2.5 if its done by iteslef(if car is out of warrenty). sometimes if there are no mounts in stock Tech will just bolt verything back as it is and be like "fuck it i dont have time to wait for this "
there is also a vacuume line going to that mount. if i is not connected it may cause some vibe issues but that i am not completely sure...
