Just curious of the time frame to failure

Within the past 1k (while on a road trip) I noticed slipping durring a 5->3 downshift at freeway speeds (60-85 MPH or so) the slipping when I saw the tach was normally around 500-1k but I did see it slip at least 1.5k a couple times, I already mentioned to the dealer I was having rough shifting and some slipping (to a lesser extent) a few k's ago and they did nothing said everything was cool, so from those of you with experiance how much longer do you think the tranny will hold out?

Mine tranny went out last night and I had no signs of any problems. I was lucky that there was not many cars on the highway when it happened. I was driving about 60 or so and went to pass a car and all off a sudden the engine just reved up (like it was in neutral) and there was no acceleration. Then the car just jerked back and pushed forward, most likely going from 5th to 3rd. I would say get it in the shop and bitch if you have too. If they have not been listening call Acura Customer care and tell them the situation and that you have safety concerns as you know if friends that have been in bad situations.

Good luck, by the way - I dropped my car off this morning and the dealer still has not looked at my car yet. Until they confirm is the tranny they will not get me a rental :-(
