Honda-Acura is a JOKE.
First off.. I own a 2000 CL-S with 45k miles and have had absolutely NO problems with the tranny. But after reading here for years, things seem to become clear. First, Honda apparantly put a tranny meant for a 4 cylinder engine into a 6 cylinder engine (not confirmed- just read that in a post here a week or two ago) then Honda denied any problems with their trannys, then they increased their warranty on the transmission to 100k, now they issue a recall for all transmissions that doesn't even solve the problem. It even CAUSES death in some trannys that have been problem free up until the 'oil jet kit' install. Seriously chaps my ass. sorry to vent.

also, I've never heard of any death related accidents to the tranny, so if you have that is new news.
And alot of japanese manufacturers have been skimping on auto tranny's lately. They simply don't build them strong enough or give them nearly enough cooling, this is something they really need to take a look at what Americans are doing.

i agree this really pisses me off too!!! i bought my cls thinking i was getting a reliable car and im afraid to really take anywhere other than down the road a little thinking my tranny's gonna go at anythime

NOT death to people- but to the tranny's themselves! On another note-- perhaps no deaths (yet) but I know there is at least one member here that has had serious injury. Sorry I can't recall that members name- I think he already got a settlement from H-A.
