Help me out!?

I have a 97 2.2 cl 5spd, and the clutch has never given me any problems it has about 86k on the car not sure if the clutch has ever been replaced but just the other day all of a sudden the clutch pedal was all play and I only felt pressure in the clutch pedal if i pressed it all the way to floor. So now today i tried to drive it over to a shop but the pedal is all slack and i can't get it into a gear. Is this just the clutch or something much more serious? Any help would be really appreciated thanks

you most likely have a blown o-ring in your clutch cylinder. You need to get the car towed to the shop where they can replace the unit. It basically (though hydraulic pressure) pushes the pressure plate away from the clutch. Since the piston is not pushing out the throw-out bearing, it is not allowing gears to shift. Your basically stuck in the gear that your presently in.
