Has Acura helped out after warranty?

Ok I have 72K miles and the 7 years 4 months just ran out 3 weeks ago. I called Acura one day and told them I was having problems with the tranny. She said that, that day was the last for the warranty. in other words it expired on the day I called them, Go figure! She said she would make a note and send an email to my local dealer (Pikes Peak Acura). She sent the email cause I told her the problem I had with them.

I called them (the dealer)when I first got the car in November. I told them I had a tranny code for "Manufacturer Control" on the tranny. They told me it would be $135 to check it out and that it would not be covered under warranty because it did not have a drivability issue. Just an engine light for the tranny was not enough.

Well Last few weeks it has started to slip when It shifts from 2nd to 3rd. When it gets to red line and shifts it jumps another 100 rpm before it goes into 2nd. When down shifting from 4th to 3rd I'm have a hard kick before it takes off. One day I down shifted and it felt like I hit the brake pedal for a second really hard.

The tranny did have the oil jet kit installed back in 2004. Thats all Acura could told me.

So I called the dealer back the other day and talk to a different service guy. He said to bring it in and they would check it out for free. (SWEET ) He even said that because the warranty just went out and also how low of miles I have that Acura might help out with a warranty claim.

So has my question is, has Acura help anyone else out in the past?

Thanks

I've been out of the loop for awhile, but didn't Acura extend the warranty on transmissions up to 100+K? Correct me if I'm wrong someone.

I think it's 109K miles, but there is also a 7 year 4 month time limit on them from the date of original purchase.

You shouldn't have a problem with them taking care of it since you called in on the day it expired... many members have had their trannies goodwilled way beyond the expiration...
