GoodWill Warranty
My Wife's trans has failed at 118,000 miles.
Who has had Acura replace theirs with "goodwill warranty"?
What, how did you plead?
Thanks.

File a complaint, tell them how much you are disapointed in the realiability of a luxary car. But before you do that, try to talk with your dealer.
Ask to have a chat with a Service manager, the dealership might throw some free bone too,

Well, after exactly 114,956 miles on the tranny on the way to work Friday....CAPUT!
You have me chirping tires anywhere from 20-65mph....great for the rubber!
I had the oil jet done at 99k....since it passed then.
That was 6 months, 1 trip to Miami from Houston, 1 trip to Key West from Houston, 1 trip to Prescott from Houston ago....aaah the memories...
Farewell first tranny....hello brand spanking new tranny!!!
Ok, done with my rambling....and to answer a couple of questions..
Since reg. warranty under recall was over at 100k, mine was done at good will. All it takes is for you to take the car into your dealership (and it helps to be the original owner too), go for a drive with the tech so that they certify that it is a tranny recall issue, and a short talk with the service rep who will call the Acura rep of your region to ask for good will service. In MOST cases, it will be covered 100% from what I'm told. But RKeat1, I wouldn't worry about it...you'll be a.o.k.
o1s: The issue with the tranny is in 2nd gear...but you can experience issues in all gears from what I saw in my case. A good indicator of the tranny going out is a flashing D5 light, check engine light comes on when you feel issues, and another thing I noticed is that going from D to R you'll hear the gear grind and about 2-3 seconds later, the gear will actually engage...
Ok, off to drive around in the TSX again...hasta guys!

Three Wheelin'
ON my TL they did it at 164,000 miles free, but did charge me for a motor mount and alternator that I needed, plus some other small stuff. Tischer Acura, Md. I'm sure they did it as a "less than 100K miles warranty job" somehow. Now the car has 198K miles, still running perfectly. Is retired from sales rep duty.

THANKS TO ALL for your input.
Acura has agreed to put a replacemant trans into my wife's car.
All it is costing me is labor.
So I am pleased. Woould have liked it to be free...
But labor only is reasonalble.
Will they offer an extended warranty on a replacement trans??
My Wife REALY loves her CL-S, and does not want to get rid of it unless we have to.
The Dealer has given us an 05 TSX to use.
Nice car, will probably be the replacemant if we have to, before the 12,000 miles are up.
