Does any body know the current status on this problem? Has it been corrected, are they still on the works on finding a solution? Are we SOL?

The recall installs an oil jet that will supply additional fluid to the 2nd gear. This prevents teh 2nd gear teeth from breaking which was one of two problems with the transmisssion.

The 2nd problem is excessive clutch pack wear. This problem has not been fixed 100% There are still clutch pack failures. Some ECU changes have been made to change shift patterns to reduce the amount of wear on the clutch packs but the same transmission is still used in many Acuras today.

The only true fix is a complete redesign or replacing the clutch packs with expensive carbon/kevlar units (which Acura won't be doing).

They have extended the warranty to 100k miles. Not much more they can do.

Are you Serious????

This i very sad, the reason i bought this honda product is because they have this fame for durability and dependability. What an Irony! i just purchased my Acura Certified CLS about 2 days ago. I know they are not going to take it back! Damn!!! There's no cool-off period law in TX

Really???

Ok Mr Steve..!!!

How many affected vehicles have been sold? do you know.

Thats worst than the 1.06% Crankwalk failure in the second Turbo Eclipse's which is made by Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi means "Unreliable" in spanish...!!!

Damn... this sucks cuz now i will be driving without the confidence that my car is able to deliver performance without sacrificing reliability.

I had my transmission replaced when I was bone stock. Now my motor makes nearly 400 horsepower and I haven't had any symptoms of this transmission failing.
