Unhappy Auto Tranny Failure (not me now)

Hey guys whatsup, well yesterday the tranny started having some slipping issues going into third, now today it has become a full blown problem. The car is a 2001 CLS w/ auto tranny. From reading the endless list of threads already, I guess my car would fit the criteria to get a new one.

What do I need to do. I bought the car from an individual. The car has 49000 miles on it right now. Do I need to print anything off online to show them the extended warranty, or will they know. Do I need to take it to the dealership that the original owner bought it from, or should I be able to go to my local Acura dealership. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Shawn

You need to rub on the tranny (right by the Torque Converter) until the tranny geanie comes out. Tell him you need a rebuild.

Just bring it to any Acura dealer, they will take your VIN and verify any warranty/recall information from there database. It doesnt matter who owns it or where it was bought.

Awsome, I'll call them first thing in the morning. Is there any charge for diagnosing it, or will they take care of all that for free?

You shouldn't have to pay anything as long as they see the problem. If for some reason it drives perfect for the dealer and they see no problem, they may try to make you pay for looking at it.

i just had my tranny replaced about 2 weeks ago! just call any local dealer, provide your vehicle id #, make an appointment to bring it in. once the service technician detects the transmission slipage(which they always do), they will replace your tranny with an honda/acura remanufactured tranny free of charge as long as your under 100k miles. they will also change the 2 front engine mounts, the ecu, and probably update the timing belt tensioner as well. ask for a loaner vehicle, free of charge of course, and bone out in that sucker. mine car was was done in one week exactly. free car wash too! yea!!! good luck

my first tranny is starting to act weird as well....i have a slight whine, belt slip when i start the car when its cold and then goes away when it heats up, but when i switch from reverse to drive it now takes 5+ seconds for it to find drive. Once it is in drive, it is fine, tho. I am taking it in on monday..

I have a magic transmission

I have a magic transmission. I am at 103K miles on my 01 cl S. tranny I think got the oil jet treatment years ago. I'm thinking this transmission will go the distance. It's all stock from the factory I did a carfax on it. I don't understand why my transmission hasn't biten the dust yet. Must be a secret special tranny
