2003 Problems

I've had my CL-S only a month, it's got about 600 miles on it. All the sudden the VSA lights stay on permanently, and there's an annoying stuttering whenever I let off the gas pedal. My car is auto transmission.

Took it to Acura and they immediately said it must be my transmission. Now, just talked to the Acura tech, and he says my transmission is fine, it's just a bad wiring harness sending bad messages to engine. He found some "breaks on the wiring harness."

Please let me know if these symptoms are indicative of transmission failure. thanks!

So when driving, after accel., and lifting off gas, the car kinda stutters? How are the rpms doin? jumping around? I don't have a VSA problem but I have a similar stuttering issue and Acura told me that it's the tranny doing engine breaking, which he said was great to have in an auto, cuz most autos don't do that. Again, he could have been BSing me.

Yes .. this transmission does perform 'engine braking' - a feature that I wish you could disable .. cuz I HATE it. Anyways, the braking will occur based on the amount of brake you are using .. the speed you are at .. and the rate of deceleration .. if the conditions are right .. the tranny will downshift and bring up the RPM's of the engine to perform engine braking. The feeling of this will be like pushing much harder on the brakes causing a feeling of moving forward out of your seat. Refined? BULLSHIT .. I HATE IT!

I'd tell you dealer to go jump in a lake .. just because "most autos don't do that" doesn't mean it's a wonderful feature! Perhaps there is a reason most autos don't do that.

Yea, thats exactly what I feel, its annoying. But as long as it's not a sign of a bad/faulty tranny (gee, what is a GOOD sign?), I'll feel better.
