I have a 77k trannny and it is whistling and slipping in 3rd to 4th. Here is my Q, I want to put a manual tranny in and need the info on swapping. where do I start.

J/k aside, just thinking about it, i have seen a few posts about it over the months with a conversion, but i think the conculsion came the its too much hassle and $$$, based on what the CL is worth and i dont think it has been done. I might be wrong...

just sell your car and get a manual cl.. trust me that is the best way.. to convert your auto to manual, you need some $$$$$$$.

Exactly. Less hassle for you (especially TIME and MONEY). You'll need to purchase A LOT of parts that the 5AT doesn't have ... the 6MT itself, cables, new master cylinder w/ reservoir for clutch fluid, shifter (rod + boot + knob + assembly), shift plate (1-2-3-4-5-6-R), new instrument PANEL and wiring harnesses, ECU, disable VSA b/c 6mt cars don't have it, new 6MT headers since the one on the 5AT is slightly different, the list goes on and on and on and ...

Meh, if only Acura had enough sense to toss a 6MT option when the 01's came out.

that sounds like a PIA. lookin in the search tab and found the info on the tranny warranty that was extended. but I didn't see if it was extended to anyone other than the original owner. I took my car to a dealership and they said they couldn't replace the tranny because I was out of warranty. AND they saw and noted it on the repair order that it was the bearings in the oil pump for the tranny. This was all when the jet for 2nd gear recall came out. As a matter of fact the S#!+ has gotten worse since they did that recall.
