100K +: What is Accura doing/saying?

Since a lot of us are headed this way, can we get updates on the 100K issues.

1. What is Honda/Accura and/or your dealer doing and telling those of you whose tranny blew over 100K?
2. Also what warranty are they promising on the replacement for those of you who blew just under 100K?

Bulldog01 who is paying for your 4th tranny at 109K miles?

Also Draidens blew at 101K He posted:
"....My 2nd tranny (2001 CL-S) just blew at 101,000 miles and I am fighting with them for a replacement. So far, the "best" they could (would) offer was to give me a rebuilt tranny for free but charge me for labor - $640. I told them that this was crap but have goeet no where so far. This is not a good sign of coverage after the 100k mark..."

typeS_CLark your 2nd tranny blew at 94K. Are they still saying after 100K its all yours -no help?
wytman any new news?

So basically we all have a car that is guaranteed to last till about 100k. After that you are on your own?

It is sort of like Acura has put a limit on the life of this car. That doesnt seem right.

I am surprised they haven't been sued yet for selling a car that is only guaranteed to last a certain time. Seems like a ripoff that they are getting away with IMO.

Nowadays cars are expeceted to last much longer than 100k. So limiting that with a known glass tranny is BS. Honda/Acura has to account for this.

IMO this is almost as bad the Firestone Tire/Ford Explorer issue from a few years back. Too bad the NHTSA isn't taking it as seriously.

Perhaps a Class Action lawsuit is needed by all CL/TL/AV6 owners? This would sure wake them up.

Basis of the lawsuit would be "honda/Acura knowingly selling a product to consumers that has a limited life span and doing little to nothing to remedy the situation"

But why should we sit back and take it in the ass?

Has anyone seriously looked into a lawsuit of any type?

We need to do our part and contact the NHSTA with reports. EricL has been superb about posting contact info and facts and info as he is recieving from them. Check out the threads and the emails.

All of us, if we know someone who was injured in an accidnet caused by the tranny, help a brother out by helping them to email the info to the NHSTA. After a wreck one may not be in the frame of mind to hunt down the address and email them. Again EricL has made that contact info readily available. True they may still try to *&^% us but lets not be lameassed about it and not even try.

I claimed mine as a lemon after 3 failure and 1 other repair on the tranny. Laws are laws and this car is definetly a lemon.

A class action lawsuit is being filed but it is limited to California. Search the threads. Hopefully the somewhat limited 100,000 mile extended warrenty will be addressed by the legal firm.

I have not heard of anyone paying for a tranny at 100-130k. Dealers make a goodwill repair.

I'm sure people with over 150k have paid.

After 100k, I'm not paying +$3500 for a tranny that won't last 30-50k. Many other people will run out of warranty before I do. I'm going to sit back and see what happens to them.

I sent a email just now to the New Jersey Attorney General, and the Department of Consumer Affiars. I will see how they respond.

parts of post #1: Post Kirby Noonan & Sweat LLP

The gentlemen working on the case is James R. Lance and Matthew P. Nugent, so if you would like you share your experience with them to help get Honda to recall and replace all 99-2003 transmissions with a newly designed one, SPEAK UP!
