This car is what the Integra should have been when Acura started.

Single event, spontaneous downshift from D5 to 2. Cruise control at 65mph when it happened. Tranny immedately returned to 5 and didn't repeat. That was Sunday, called dealer Monday and drove it there (Gunn Acura SA, TX). Tranny was a bit jumpy in route and sometimes slow to respond to changes, to reverse for example. Dealer took a look, declared it toast and put me in a rent car (Hertz, beats walkin' I guess). Three days to get parts one day to R/R the parts.

Thanks to the board for the insight on this problem. I've had the car 3 wks, Carmax also in SA, TX. It just crossed the 36k mile boundary.

Peripheral question: Extended warranties from the dealer Y/N?
