are the OEM tires made by Michelin?

I ask, because I bought my CL used and it had 3 Yokohama 420s and 1 Yokohama 520 on it

I was reading a magazine article in Dec. Modified Mag about the Continental ContiSportContact 3 tires... they seemed pretty badass in their review and I was going to try the out for the summer

No way, the MXVX4's or what ever thier designation was suck. I have them on my wifes Pacifica now. Their about to get replaced with Yokohama Prada Spec X. They are 235/55/19 and they want want $249. each for the OEM Michelin MXVX4. I'll get the Yoko's for $169.99 and far better reviews.

When I bought my CLS it had GoodYear Responce edges. They were not to bad. The only problem with them is the carbon fiber sidewalls thump like crazy in the cold, until they get warmed up.

I now have a new set of Toyo Proxes 4's. They do pretty good in winter driving. Their no snow tire though. Initial turn in can be scary at first (at high speeds). Once you get them set in a corner ther good to go. Tons of srtaight line grip. Including wet traction. I got the 235/45/17. And they are priced right too.

I'm still running them although they are pretty worn so I am replacing them this spring. I do however run hankook snow tires on 16" oem alloys during winters.

I have the SportContacts on my car and they are great although they only last about 20k miles.

<--------- still running the michelin crap on my stockers, but they came with the car so i didnt pay for them...

Hardly run my stock wheels though, and still have decent tread on the fronts so wearing them out isnt gonna happen too soon --- so cant really justify an upgrade yet...

but they are 100% overpriced suck.

first set has 32K on them and still look to have 60% tread left the rears have about70% left :p

I do not drive my car aggressively

Old post, but thought I would reply. I am still running the stock tires on my 2001. Thet have approx. 38,000 on them and the thread still looks real good. I am intersted in changing them to a tire that has a little more rim protection, any suggestions? Needless to say, I never drive this car. I still love it and drive it like I stole it every time I get in it. I bought it new in 11/2000 and it never had a dent until i let my wife use it as her tennis car. That did not last long. i would rather it collect dust than get destroyed. One day I'll take the rear panel off and pop the dent out, if a plunger does not do the trick.
