Wheels scratched with alignment

Well, on Friday I took my car in for an alignment because I got my new coilovers installed. Well, they managed to scratch up my brand new wheels which Acura so nicely put on for me (the old ones were peeling). So, when I went in to talk the manager, he told me that that happens all the time and to come back today, Monday, and he would send them off to get refinished and put me in a rental.
Well, that made me think. Has anyone ever had an alignment where they do not at least scuff them? I don't think that I have ever had one that did not scuff my wheels.

I have never had a wheel "scuffed" when being aligned. I would think there would be a major uproar from all of us if that were a regular occurance.

Maybe just that dealer always scuffs wheels.

Same shit happened to me last week with my 350z... I even told them to be CAREFUL because I knew there was a chance of getting my wheels scratched. Anyways, they sent them to get refinished. I'll get them back today.

I have tried three different shops in austin, and they have all left there own little "signature" on my wheels-so it is not just this one dealer-and it is both my stock wheels and 18's. Funny thing was the guy who did the alignment saw them and said, "damn, they gave me this brand new machine so i would stop doing that!"
Anyways, the place was cool about it and gave me a rental while they send them to San Antonio to get fixed. The place gave me a murano-nice, but glad that it is not my car.

Alignment

I had the same thing happen a few months ago. I went to Evan Tires in San Diego. Got talked into doing 3 yr anytime aligment for $130.00. It was near dark when I left and didn't notice until the next day. Irritating.

Almost forgot about this topic, I got my wheels back...and although they look fine..they are NOT perfect. I'm not satisfied with the refinishing the company did. There are small granulations on the wheels that are indicitive of a BAD paint job. I'm bitched at the dealership and I BETTER be getting some new wheels if they don't redo the job. The Service Manager kept on saying "Track Wheels are $900 a piece from Nissan." I honestly don't give a fck. My wheels were perfect before they came in, and I don't expect anything less due to their incompetence.

Most aligment machine will leave 3 little mark on the wheels. They have to mount the sensor/light tight which is the cause of the marks.
