wheel spacers

OK, i was just brosing King Motorsports and i came across H&R wheel spacers. I read a little bit about them and they say not only do they give you that european kinda widebody look but also improve handling by stabling the car more. I'm just kinda curious as too what you guys think about this. Theyre pretty cheap too only 75 a pair.

They also don't allow you as many threads on your lugs increase the chance of a wheel coming off.
You have no need for them, so don't use them.

There is no need to run a spacer unless you need one. If you had a BBK and needed clearance then run a spacer. Now the H&R's spacer are complete kits. If you do choose a large enough spacer they include new studs to ensure you have enough of the lug threaded on. Besides if you wanted to do a spacer i would think you want it in the rear but on this car you could easily rub with a spacer pushing the wheel out further in the rear, esp. if you are lowered.

That's nuts. The fact that it doesn't rub is cool. But with a 25 mm spacer (1 inch), that's a lot less thread for your lug nuts. You are really running the risk that the bolts can come off. I think most of the guys here that use spacers for the BBK, use like a 5 mm spacer, or just enough to gain clearance. If you really need the look, then maybe you should get longer studs just to be safe.

Or wider rims with less back spacing. Like +48.

25mm, that is insane. He had to have changed the studs, I dont think anyone would be that crazy to put a 25mm spacer on our car and not change the studs. How my car looks is important, but no mod is worth doing if it makes your car unsafe, just beacause it looks good.

I know for sure the 25MM kits come with longer studs. What they do is set up 10 holes. 5 to fit your original studs through and 5 nuts that are torqued down specifically to hold the spacer on. And the other 5 holes get new studs to make sure the wheels have enough threads.

Well the only reason i run spacer is because of the bbk. Otherwise, i won't even bother with the whole spacer=better handling. What we really need for better handling is wider and more stickery tires

They definately won't recommend you use a 25mm spacer on you CL.

no i was looking at like 10 mm at the most. 25 would def be too much. I was more just getting opinions about this. I think im just gonna throw 245's on my ronjons and get a neuspeed strut tower bar to compliment the factory 1.

thanks for all the input fellas.....

My best friend is a mechanic and I have another friend who has a 2001 Audi S4. It's bright yellow and he bought black rims with the chrome lip around it. Look phat. The rims did not fit but he wanted those rims on the car badly. My mechanic friend told him about spacers but did not recommend them and felt uncomfortabe putting them on. My other friend finally convinced him to do it and a week after it was done, while he was taking a turn at 10 mph getting off an exit ramp, the wheel fell off and damaged the front bumper and front left vender. The wheel just went flat against the ground. It didn't fly off or anything. The car looked like the Delorean in the movie Back to the Future 2 - lol. The rim was all scraped up too. They fought for a week on who should encore the cost but they ended up splitting it. Could have been much worse if he was going faster. Thats my

so pretty much what i am picturing is a wheel adapter that would use the same bolt pattern? i can't think of any reason to run a spacer on a cl unless it was on esserak's car.
