Whats the difference?

Forgive my naivete but whats the difference btwn ciolover springs and regular springs? I only want to lower the CL 1". 1.5".

Coilovers have an adjustable sping base giving you the option to just jack your car up and adjust the ride hight at any time, normal sping are one hight only

Simply put coilovers have adjustable ride height whereas regular lowering springs are a stationary height just lower than stock.
