42 offset would be about the absolute lowest you could go. I recently had to sell some 19's i had because they were too wide and low offset for the kinda drop i wanted. I'm thinkin 19x7.5 with 225/35 series tires should set it off just right on a cL.......
I agree, +42 offset is about the lowest you should go. I don't have 19s. However, I do
have 18x7.5 +48 offset rims and temp. 6mm wheel spacers. So my net offset is at +42. I will be going to custom 5mm spacers next week to put me at +43.
I'm running 235/40ZR18s on these rims with a CT drop and haven't had any rubbing issues.

if you are looking for comfort, go 235/35/19, but it wil make the wheels look smaller, I have the same exact setup, 19" x 7.5" with 235/35/19. I plan to go 225/35/19 soon to give it a sportier look, altho, 235 would feel alot better.
Get under there and measure your present space inside and outside your tires. Then you can calculate any wheel width and offset difference with a simple calcuation. Try this website which I used to calculate different offset and widths. http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html
