what happens if....

You mount an old stock front tire that is close to the wear bars, and mount a new one on he other side? I'm debating on repairing a flat VS buying a new front tire and I'm concerned about the different tire circumference and over-all performance, being a front-wheel drive car.

Thanks in advance all ;-)
