Tokico Illuminas - Yes or No
Okay, after searching multiple threads on to find out if the Illuminas have been good, bad, etc . . . I'm going to do a post for just that . . so
I'm set on getting the Illuminas or HP Blues, so for those that have experience or still have Tokico Illuminas, how have they been?
Ride?
Is the adjusment feature still working?
Durability?
Would you have gone with the Tokico HP Blues instead?

I like mine. One blew on me, not sure how but other than that I have no complaints. They are stiffer, have mine set to 3 all around, but you dont feel every penny in the road. I've been to the track a few times and the rear no longer squats during WOT.

I think someone should try Koni Str.t's. They are cheaper than illuminas and have koni quality. I'm told they are equivalent to Koni Sports (yellow) on 3/4 turn, they're just not adjustable. I've driven around with my koni's on 3/4 turn and they ride great.

I'm running Illuminas on the CL and HPs on the TL. Happy w/ both setups. since the TL is just for daily drive cruising HPs are fine. For a more sporting setup the Illuminas adjustability is a better choice for firmer settings.
In terms of reliability, I've got about 70,000 miles on the HPs and they still pass the bounce test. Only got about 10K miles on the Illuminas and no problems.
I have run Koni Yellows on another car and one of them leaked fluid at the top by the adjuster. I got it replaced under warranty.
