Which tires to get?

I have over 165,000 miles on my 2001 CL-S and it's still running quite well. I keep current on my services and had the transmission replaced (under warranty) just under 100,000 miles. With that written, I need to change all four of my tires. It's approaching winter and I am looking to buy a new set of all-season tires.

I'm not an aggressive driver, but I often drive around 75mph on the highway. I'm hoping to keep the car for another 2 years or so, which, for me, is about 38,000 additional miles.

So, which tires should I get? I love the OEM MXM4's but I'd rather spend close to $900. I've done it many times but with the life of my car and not knowing how the car will react as it approaches 200,000, I'm not sure it's worth it.

What would you do in my position? Thanks for the help.

I had the Toyo Proxes 4. I think I piad like 120 each and they were pretty good all seasons. great in the rain. If your not heavy on the gas and rotate them you should be able to pull 38K out of them no problem. The Kumo ASX did well also. If you not a hard driver they will serve you well. They were quit, smooth and handled very well for the price. And they will easily last 40K miles.

michelin tires wear quick.......

if you want decent tires that will last a while Arazonian Silver Editions work well about $540 a set installed. they have a 55K treadlife warranty. based upon MY driving habits, they will last me about 80K miles

I put a pair on my car at 45K miles and at 87K miles they still had 50% of their tread left. I smaked a pothole and put a bubble in one and since I had the road hazzard insurance, they replaced the tire free of charge and I paid for the other one.

I put a second pair on at 65K and they are still at 75% and I am at 90K miles

Ive had BF Goodrich g-Force Sport tires, not too bad.

Then went to Yokohama S.Drives on the 18s. Loved them.

Then to Kumho Ecsta SPT on the 19s, dont waste your money.

I got about 12k miles out of the Kumhos. They wear unevenly and the traction sucks.

I put about 16k on the Yokohamas, then put them in storage for the 19s, but recently swapped back. They look like theyve got about 20k left in them.

The BF-Gs have about 20k on them right now. They are decent, better then the Kumhos but nowhere near the Yokohamas. Ive had them on my old Prelude and the last a good 50k miles.

Keep in mind, these are all summer tires and I drive aggressively. So this may mean nothing to you.

Times 2 on the Pilot Sport A/S Plus. I replaced the MXM4's in the summer with 235/45's and the tires are simply amazing on dry and wet. Haven't tested them in snow yet but judging by the tread design, I have no worries. With a treadwear rating of 500, they'll outlast my car so they might be a little overkill for your two year plan but on the other hand they'll help with the re-sale value.
