Tires
#6
I looked up the CL-S all season tire and I got 6 tires that was made for
01-03 CL-S(cause I don't think the size of tire or rim changed from 01-03)
here's the results
Dunlap SP4000 (it only got a 6.5 out of 10 in overall reviews) it runs 145 bucks a tire
Dunlap SP5000( it got 8 out of 10 on the review) they are 190 bucks a tire
Sumitomo HTR+(which it got 8.8 out of 10)and their only 90 bucks a tire(good value)
Firestone Firehawk GTA 02(which got 3 out 10) and their 106 bucks a tire
Goodyear Eagle RS(which it got a 5 out of 10) and they are 118 bucks a tire
Michelin Pilot HX mxm4(which it got about 5 out 10) and they are 180 a tire.
Personally if it was my CL-S i'd take the Sumitomos because not only they are cheaper they were rated better

I don't know what certain brand but if you want a long lasting tire you'd want one that's like rated for like 80,000 or 100,000 mile you'll have to get a "touring tire" probably"(which 80,000 or 100,000 mile tires the rubber is hard as hell )

What's their life? Can they go 40-50K miles ?
I might just get the cheapest tires that can hold the longest time....

My stock Michelins had 39k when I replaced 'em and they had tons of tread left - probably would've hit 60k or more easily but 2 developed bubbles on the side. The differences I've noticed in 3 days with the HTR+'s is incredible. No more squealing on tight turns, much better grip. Haven't really tested 'em in wet weather yet though. For about $100/tire, get 'em.

Hey I was a test vehicle for the Firehawk SZ50 EP and I have to say that those tires are great. I don't have them on now but, I was only able to get a test run in at fedex field stadium and get a salom run through some cones. I recommend those tires but they are 149 a peice at tire rack. The run flat tires of the make are exclusive for the C5 corvette so you know they are highly recommended. My friend has them on his accord and only raves about them. The good thing is that they have way too much traction. Way too hard to chirp 2nd gear. I wish they let me have the tires
