Tein S Tech bump stop cutting (HELP quick)
Tein S Tech Owners -
I purchased a set of used S techs and am installing them this weekend. I need to know how much (if at all) to cut the bump stops.
I do not have the chart Tein provides showing how to cut them for the 2g CL. Anyone who's installed them on the 2g or has the chart listing the 2g parameters, could you please let me know how much to take off?
Time to get this biatch lowered!

you always cut bumpstops when putting on lowering springs. when you buy lowering springs it even says so in the directions in the box. because you decarese strut travel when you lower the car, by cutting the bumstop it helps compensate and give you a little better of a ride so your not bottoming out all the time. its been about 4 years since i last did it i think i cut about half of it off, this was on a maxima though

^ Thanks for the info. I've never changed out my own suspension. That has me wondering if the shop I took my car to didn't cut the bump stops and that's the reason why it's squeaking when I go over bumps.

the squeaking is also a result of it being lowered - from the springs, not the bump stops. Your springs probably don't have rubber material between some of the coils and so when they touch they squeak. You can usually buy them and put them on the coils.

you have a better chance of bottoming out if you dont cut the bumpstop, just be sure to get some good struts and you should be fine, ex tokico blues i bottomed out all the time, switched to kyb agx i dont think i bottomed out once

I'm gonna be running bilsteins.
I got an email back from a guy at one of the recommended bilstein resellers, and he told me to leave the rears un-cut because the bilstein shocks for the CL are designed to work with them as is, and to remove the front ones completely because the front bilsteins have internal bump stops.
Does this sound right to you guys? I am thinking I will take a couple rings off the back and ditch the front completely? What do you think
