tein basic coilovers leaking?
tein basic coilovers leaking?
So i went ot the dealership last week for an oil change and the said my front right shock was leaking. I assume this is my tein unit? I have only had them on my car for a bout 12 months or so. Should i have the dealership fix it or do i have to go to tein to get a replacement?

If you have coilovers, there isn't anything left that is OEM that could leak. I would doubt that the dealership has the parts to fix a leaky Tein coilover.
I have the SS-P's and I remember something in the manual that said bot to over adjust the damping or you would have to send it back to them to be fixed. You don't have the adjustable damping in a Basic, but I would still assume that it needs to go back to Tein to be repaired.
Have you looked to confirm the leak, cleaned it off and see if it comes back? It could be that the dealership is trying to upsell you something you don't need.

i havent looked myself. The dealership was just letting me know it was leaking he noticed most of my suspension was aftermarket. If i have to send it back is ti warrantied? I thought i read tein has like a lifetime warranty or something
