"Summer" Tire

I just got a flat my front drivers side. The guy put on a Hankook k106. I live in NY and winter is almost here, is this a bad tire for the winter? Its a perfomance tire and on sears.com they call it a summer tire. Will it make a difference? Like I said it just one tire up front

I rock summer tires year round

The weather isnt as bad here as NY with the snow though. If you have another set of wheels put winter tires on the stockers and keep the rims for the summer.
