stock CLS springs/shocks will fit on a CL?

I don't know a whole lot about suspension, so I need some advises here.
I just installed ADR Phantom 18x7.5 wheels and it looks like the gap has increased, so I really need a drop(I'll post some pictures later). So I started thinking about the skunk2 coilovers(in my price range), but then read a lot of negative reviews about them, so I changed my mind and decided to install stock CLS springs/shocks. My qustion is will these fit my CL? Also, is this a smart decision for someone who needs a 1-1.5" drop and not trying to spend a whole lot of money for a good performance? Please advise. Thanks.

if coilover is out of your price range....get H&R sport or Tein HTech.....don't even bother getting CLS springs and shocks.......
I have a couple pic with HTech drop, search under username Nitequill, he has lots of GOOD PIC on his H&R Drop.....and for shocks, we use Bilstein Sport, ...if you need adjustability, go with Koni Yellow or Tokico illumina....

Good luck

Thanks for the prompt response, but my point is that I Don't want to get new shocks, just springs or coilovers. At the same time I don't want the ride to be VERY bouncy. The reason I've mentioned CLS stock springs/shocks is because I can get them used for a good price.

"get H&R sport or Tein HTech" - by this, do you mean that I can just get these springs/coilovers without getting any shocks? I'm trying to spend up to $300 on suspension(labor not icluded).

Here's what I read about skunk2 before purchusing them. Should I still consider these as good coilovers?

Thanks.

I have tein Htech....by all mean...it's far from bouncy....it's like stock CLS but just a tad stiffer....if you get the CLS spring instead, you'll still have that gap from replacing your wheel and tire. I don't think CLS springs are any lower than CLP springs (correct me if i'm wrong...anybody)...

There are a couple people in the forum who uses htech with stock shocks. The TEIN site mentioned that Htech is designed to be used with stock shocks....but...if i were you...might as well get a new shocks....you have to change it in the future anyway....why not do it all at once...

For installation, just do it yourselve $200-300 ($500 in my case...i live up north...everything is expensive here).

Nitequill has a great DIY...just follow that...and you'll be set with installation. I just did mine myself last weekend....it's a fun project. Got my htech from prostreetonline.com.

How much can I get tein Htech(the ones you got) for?
Is this fake? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-03...spagenameZWD1V

If possible, send me a link of the ones you're using.
Thanks.

This is the one i have...h tech....
http://www.gripmotorsports.com/pi~pn...tech-1534.html

The second link you put there is for s tech springs...that will be very low...i won't go with that one....

The ebay link seems like the correct one....the part number is correct #SKA34-BuB00
But, i'm not a fan of buying stuff from ebay...but that's cheap though..so it's up to you.

The springs have Gold powder coating on it....it doesn't look like the regular Green Color from Tein..

I got mine from Prostreetonline....http://prostreetonline.com/buy/tein_...a34-bub00/...a bit more expensive than the link you posted....i go with them because i know i can trust them....

ok I see. So which shocks do you have along with these springs? Do you think I can install the springs first and not worry about the new shocks at the moment? Will the ride be ok and how much should the drop be you think?

Stock CLS springs? Hell if you want some, I'll sell you mine. I have two sets. I'd rather go with a drop though.

stock CL-S springs will not lower your car compared to stock CL springs. Definetly not 1-1.5".

The Teins or H&Rs can be used with stock shocks just fine. I'm running the Comptech springs on the stock CL suspension and its fine. The Comptech springs lower the car more than the other ones too.

Is it just me or the stock CLS springs look pretty low already. Could be the wheels that make it look like it. CLS suspension should be different than CLP. I guess I would be happy with an inch drop.

Stock CL-S suspension and CL-P has different part numbers so it could be lower? Let me know if you want a set

I guess I'll just go with Tein HTech since they're lower, but thanks for all the advises here!

good choice....CLS spring has different part number then CL-P...but i'm pretty sure they're the same height......Regarding the shocks, if you want to keep stock for now...it should be fine....as far as ride height, it doesn't matter if you upgrade the shocks or not...the ride height is determine by the springs....

Htech does not only lower your car, but also improve the handling......The reason i said it's better if you get it with aftermarket shocks is so that you don't have to do this work twice....but if you don't mind doing that...that's ok with me

Have fun with your project....and just like nitequill said....get at least another sets of hand to help you.....and make sure you have all the tools required....
