Steel Wheels?

Not the Rolling Stones Album.... Does anybody make a set of steel wheels that one could use on the CL-S in the Winter so his stock rims won't get blasted? I want the diameter to be the same as stock just the end result not the wheels themselves.... It doesn't have to look good... just some crappy steel wheels for Winter use.

Scorpius - If not you can always buy a set of 16" TLP wheels (and tires if you like) from HAP recycling www.haprecycling.com

Talk to Jim. I got a set of new take offs (wheels/tires) for $500 shipped.

The 16" TL wheels and standard size tires won't affect VSA/speedometer/mileage, right? I'll check that guy out. Thanks! Watch me order a pair, and it won't snow.

Very little effect on Odo and Speedo, I think it is like 14 miles for every 1000 miles travelled someone check that though

Checked on that, When you are travelling 60.5 MPH your speedo will read 60mph.

Sorry guys, been out tap'n the VTEC!!

Anywho, no dude, no problems at all. All the horseshi!t you hear about VSA, brake caliper clearence, speedo, etc. is just that, horseh!t. Everything works as it should. The wheel tire package I got from them was flawless. Brand spank'n new OE (looked like never mounted!) Michelin energy MXV4+ 205/60/16 tires, and 00 TLP wheels (of which I always thought where sharp.) The tires still had the red stripe on the circumferance that wears off almost instantly if driven.

I even got another set of two wheels only to mount the drag radials on. Worked out perfect. Even though the MXV4+'s aren't the best for snow, they work fine in Ohio (at least the last two years.) My previous (now my mother's) Accord had them.

Call Jim. I'm dead serious on this deal. He had 15-20 sets of these when I did the do on my deal (about 4-6 weeks ago.) Some special deal with American Honda in cali. Must be nice, eh?!

Jim

PS - Oops. Forgot to mention..... who cares if it snows?! This is a great deal, fun to swap back and forth, look good, helps the 17" tires last longer , and did I say great deal!?

Sounds about right. RPM's (as per Tirerack Michelin specs)

205/60/16 - 837
215/50/17 - 819

Here is my “highly technical” certified engineering comparison of the TL Rims with 16” Blizzak’s versus the stock 17’s.

Note the ever so slight tilt of the board because of the different diameters.

My mistake, 205/60/16 should be 831 rpm.

PS - Shawn, nice tires!

Is that in your garage? What kind of floor is that? I'll give that guy a call sometime this or next week. So far I changed two tires... in darkness at the side of the road, I think I should be able to do it in the garage with a light.

That’s called CRUSHED STONE.

I had the garage built early last year and there was some back filling required to level the site.
The contractor said not to pour the concrete floor until it had at least a year to settle otherwise the floor would CRACK big time.

I never got around to doing it this year, and its too cold now.
I’ve added this to my spring “to do” list.
