Rotating tires....have question

OK, I'm no mechanic, but here is my question. I have a 3 ton floor jack. Is there a place to "lift" my CLS to take the front tire to rear and visa versa ? In other words lift one side of the car from the under center area ?
Thanks !

No center access area... I recommend you break out the factory jack out of your trunk along with the 3 ton floor jack you got and do it the safe way..
or
Purchase some 3 ton floor jack stands for 20-30 bucks .

You only need to buy one stand and use the lift as the other stand. Just make sure don't get underneath the car while you are at it

You can also use your wonderful doughnut spare with two or three lug nuts to hold up the corner.

It's the only use my spare ever gets.

Yup, I do the same thing. It's also a good opportunity to check the pressure in the spare.

I use three ton under the front jacking location behind the front wheel,,, it goes up high enough that both wheels are off the ground, break loose lugs before jacking. use jack stands and work carefully without releasing the pressure on the jack.

Why mess with it. It only costs about $30 to have them balanced and rotated.

Well, as an experiment I used a floor jack on the front jack point only (since it's front heavy) and actually got both tires on one side off the ground. I didn't do any work on it and felt nervous about it. I have done this on my miata to rotate the tires and never had a problem. I figure it's not much more stressful than driving over some uneven surface. Maybe I'm wrong but nothing broke.

the manual shows there are spots both fore and aft to raise either end of the car from a centralized position ... however the hook in the rear is extremely close to the bumber and if the area where the hook rests is too big, you run the risk of denting the bumber or possibly poking a hole in what looks to be the gas tank (haven't researched where that is but I didn't like the way the rest was being pushed into this area so backed off). No problem with lifting the entire front from the center lift position.
