Why don't you get some adjustable coilovers so if you change your mind you'll have some flexibility in the ride height?

That's what I would do if it's in your budget.

Otherwise, I hear the Eibach kit is popular.

A one finger gap is pretty low. Probably a 2"+ drop in the front and 1.8 in the rear.

Go to these companies websites and check out their springs. H&R, Neuspeed, Tanabe, Tein. I know there's many more too if you google it or search on this site. Also keep an eye out in the black market.

ok maybe a two finger gap would be decent. i live in NYC so roads suck! i already feel everything with the 45 profile tire. what about Tanabe NF? my car sits higher in the front now anwyays. and they would lower F/R 1.5/.5

i live in nyc also and was concerned about the drop and the roads here...i did alot of research and finally got a set of tokicko hp blue struts and tein h tech springs...the drop is ultra conservative and meant to keep a stock ride feeling..i believe the drop is about 1.5" all around... i cant show you pics because i bought them and have never installed them...now i have been trying to sell my car so i might be willing to sell...if your interested pm me..all brand new in their boxes..
i love my cl but i think its time for something with a more reliable trans...friggin auto...anyway iam ranting now...do some research..there are many options available to you depending on your budget...my setup i described is excellent quality at an affordable price point...

Not sure on the Tanabe. I went with Tein SS-P's.

U saw my car and here it is how does it looks like right after the install. Now probably its 1/4 lower since i got them for like 2 years.

I have H-Techs. The ride is good, cushy but it looks better. I have about 1.5-2 finger gaps all around.
The B&G shock/spring combo gives a 1.5 inch drop all around which is a little lower then the H-tech (1.2) so you might look into that too. Members that have it say its comfortable.
I think the drop on the Tanabe is too conservative, it won't make a big difference.

Noah has a good sugestion about coils so if your looking for flexibility and an upgrade, consider that too if your okay with the cost.

I've got a set of Eibachs sitting in the garage. PM if you are intrested. I'm not a big fan of drops on the CLS, but with your wheels I think it will look good.

I agree. With your wheel set up, all you need is a 1.5 drop.

Our 98-02 Accords sit higher than you guys. We have to drop 2.0 - 2.5" on the front clip, before our fenders even meet the tire.

yea, if you want to keep your tire size and current rims, then you'll need to roll the rears. You might rub in the front too or be close if you lower it. +40 is kinda starting to push it without stretching tires or running negative camber while lowered.
Maybe your shocks are weak if they are original, that could make the car bounce more.

This has been a great forum. I've done a lot of searching and researching. I'm leaning towards the B&G setup with a Progress rear bar. I put on wheels last month with some new tires... I can't wait to drop it.

Good choices. Any reason you don't want to go lower then the B&G setup?
