Rims looks - Rolling vs stopped
This is a theory question (maybe stupid) on rims. Are rims noticed more when stopped or rollin? What makes a rolling rim look best? How does a thin spoke look compared against say the 01 CLS fat spokes? I know I like a nice shiny lip when rollin.
I have the 03 TLS rims, look similar to the 01-02 CLS rims. I think they look better rollin than stopped because they are machined and shiny. I'm considering SSr GT1 rims that have very thin and few spokes. Just wondering how they look rolling. The look great stopped. Does this sound stupid?

With a thin spoke you'll be able to see the brakes while the wheel is in motion. It'll look like you are seeing through the wheel. No so with thick spokes.... Thick spokes will look like just a flat surface sorta... IMO

Funny you mention that. I had to get my car inspected a few years ago and I had my C2s on. I had never seen them in motion. When the put the car on the roller, I sat there in awe of how they look when spinning. They look good when stopped too, but because they're 18s and the spoked don't go all the way to the edge of the rim, they look a bit small. 19s would give me fits driving on NJ roads.

I think my TLS rims look good rolling but stopped they are too thick spoked for my taste. Yea I look at reflections too but it's hard to do without crashing into something.

I do that with my 19's when I'm downtown.
I try not to stare too long though.

I've been running my 19's for about a year now and recently put the stock 17's on for the track. I have to tell you that the ride on the 17's feels like LUXURY compared to my 19's. Quieter, smoother, and overall much less drama than the 19's. However, the 17's look like shit and the 19's went back on last night despite the ride drawbacks.
