A better explained answer.....

The TLS rims are 17X6.5 +55 offset
CLS rims are 17X7 +55 offset

Both rims will fit on either car. The CLS rims are wider.
The rims themselves have a different outer lip.
03 CLS rims are a different design then TLS rims & 01-02 CLS rims, but have the same specs as all CLS rims.

Tires are the same size 215-50-17

I think you will want to go with the CLS Wheels. The wider the better.

are you talking about the statement i made about not being able to fit 235/45's on the 6.5 wide TL wheel? you may wanna use the quote feature instead of just reply...if so the yes a 17/7 is already tight for a 235/45 on a 6.5 i dont think it would be possible let alone recomended/safe

Oh, and the 03 CLS rims are different then the 01-02 CLS rims... same size but different look....

Look in the photo forum for examples of 01-02 CLS rims and 03 CLS rims...

Technically the 235's are supposed to be on a 7.5 inch wide rim, but alot of members have run the 235's on the 7 inch rim...

so you guys recommend the 01-02 CL type S rims on my 02 coupe accord due to the looks and fitment instead of the TL type S ones?

What about TSX wheels? That's what I have on my CLs and I like the look of them a lot.

i wouldn't recommend the 01-02 CL type S rims on any car. the spokes stick out from the wheel so they scratch very easily. poor design. all 4 of my stock rims are scratched up.

what do u mean the spokes stick out from the wheels? How woudl this damage them in any way? So you think the TL type S's are better on the 02 accord coupe?

The spokes do stick out a little. Imagin a flat wheel, now imagin the spokes sticking out past that flat surface a tad. Makes the wheel more suspectable to curbs & car wash rails.

You can avoide any damage by being carfull
Or get a tire that has a rim guard & that will pull the spokes back into line with the tire.
I had 2 CL's with the 02 rims & never had a problem cause I was carefull parking & don't use machine car washes.
